Priyanka Chopra Celebrates Frontline Workers In ‘Variety’s Power Of Women’, Talks About Realizing Her Privilege: ‘Quarantine Has Been Truly Humbling’
Priyanka Chopra has come a long way in her career, from dominating Bollywood to then becoming a global icon, having been a part of a few Hollywood films and series as well. She was appointed as the global UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in December 2016, and was also honoured by Variety with the Power of Women award for her philanthropic work. Now, Priyanka Chopra took to her Instagram and announced that she was a part of ‘Variety’s Power of Women: Frontline Heroes’special, which celebrated and honoured women on the frontlines of Coronavirus pandemic.

She took to her Instagram and wrote, “Incredibly honored to be a part of tonight’s “Variety’s Power of Women: Frontline Heroes” special, celebrating the courageous women on the frontlines of this pandemic. Special congrats to this year’s amazing Power of Women Honorees - Cate Blanchett, Patti LuPone, and @JanelleMonae. Tune in at 7pm PST on @LifetimeTV or on Variety’s Facebook page.” Along with the post she also shared a BTS from her Power Of Women shoot from back in 2018. In old the video shared,  Priyanka can be seen saying, “I don't always feel powerful. And I think that sometimes women have to show an enormous amount of strength to be perceived as unbreakable. That we can walk toe-to-toe with any man or anyone around the world. But women are physiologically different, it's hard. I'm vulnerable sometimes, I'm moody sometimes, and it's hard for me, but there's no way I'll let anyone see that. When I walk onto a set, I think that's what makes me powerful. What makes me powerful is being able to emotionally check myself, use my vulnerabilities as my strength because I think that's the power of feminity.”

On Variety’s Power of Women: Frontline Heroes’ special, Priyanka talked about how quarantine has been truly humbling for her and realizing her privileged position after reading reports of people dying due to hunger.

Priyanka Chopra said, “Quarantine for me has been truly humbling. I come from India and reading reports about how people are dying of hunger and not of COVID just makes me realize how much of a privileged position I have, just because I have a home that I can quarantine in. Stay with my family, my husband.” ALSO READ: Priyanka Chopra And Anurag Kashyap Roped In As Ambassadors For The Toronto International Film Festival 2020; Will Join Nicole Kidman, Martin Scorsese On Virtual Red Carpet
